Dr. Venkatesh Nathiya

Dr. Venkatesh Nathiya is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with expertise in cataract, pediatric cataract, and refractive surgery. He completed his MBBS and MD in Ophthalmology from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, graduating as the MD Topper. He also holds the DNB, MNAMS, a Certificate in Refraction from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London, MRCS (Glasgow), FRCS (Glasgow), and is a FAICO Gold Medalist in both Refractive Surgery and Cataract Surgery, becoming the first ophthalmologist in India to receive two consecutive FAICO Gold Medals. Dr. Nathiya trained at AIIMS, New Delhi for over 12 years, including a three-year Senior Residency, where he received advanced clinical training under the mentorship of Prof. Sudarshan Khokhar. During this period, he developed extensive expertise in the assessment and surgical management of pediatric cataracts, complex cataracts, refractive disorders, and Medical Retina. His surgical expertise includes SILK, SMILE, ICL, LASIK, and PRK, along with advanced cataract and pediatric cataract surgery. An avid academician and researcher, Dr. Nathiya has 13 scientific contributions, including indexed publications, non-indexed publications, and book chapters. His research on "The Use of 35 MHz Ultrasonic Biomicroscopy (UBM) to Assess the Biometric Parameters of the Anterior Segment in Pediatric Cataractous Eyes" received the prestigious Best of IJO Award 2025. He has also served as a reviewer for the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology for the past four years, during which he has reviewed hundreds of scientific manuscripts. Dr. Nathiya is currently working as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Arihant Hospital, Bhilwara, where he has been providing comprehensive ophthalmic care for the past one and a half years, with a special focus on advanced cataract, pediatric cataract, and refractive surgery.
